The Sandy City Dog Park is a one acre, fully fenced park with water available from May - October. There is no shade yet, but there are many trees planted. There are two picnic tables, a park bench, and various flat rocks for sitting. It is a terrific park!

I have driven by the Sandy Dog Park. The parking available for the park is not right next to it but it is not a terrible distance either. It has a chain link fence around it. It doesn't appear to have shade or water available in the actual dog park, although within walking distance there is a nice public park that has shade and I am sure it must have water. I haven't actually taken my dogs there yet. Not too long after my visit, one of my dogs was diagnosed with cancer so we have been dealing with that. I hope I have been of some help. I will update this once I actually visit the park.

I have now been to the Sandy dog park and I am terribly mistaken about the features. What a wonderful place! I was nervous at first to take my dogs in because I was unsure of how they would act. There was a very nice lady who came and talked with my husband and me and made us feel very welcome. There is a nice grassy area, some young shade trees, and plenty of places to sit. There is also I drinking fountain for people and dogs. I had such a good time I can hardly wait to go back. Sorry for the first misleading poston 6/16/04

This is a wonderful park. The trees are very young and provide basically no shade, but there is one seating area with an umbrella...not much but at least something. There are several unsheltered benches, so as the weather gets cooler, this would be an even more lovely park to visit with your pooch.

There is a double fountain--a high one for people and a low one for dogs. This is a very clean park that seems well-maintained. The grass was a nice level and my dog loved it, although even in the late afternoon, she was mostly with us in the shade, just lying in the bark.

The park is fully fenced, with two entrances that have the double entry gates. There is a bag unit for picking up after the dogs, but there were a couple of signs requesting people to bring their own bags because they have been running out quickly of those provided. Several people have brought in plastic grocery bags, hung them on the fence, and left them for other visitors. It's so nice to see that sort of support and I'll be doing that now that I know of the shortage.

I've taken some digital pictures and will upload those soon. There were no other dogs when we were there (probably the heat), and I'm afraid a lot of people don't know about the park since it's out of the way a bit. Hopefully this and some pictures will help.

Thanks for maintaining this helpful website!
